Communication Functions Bundle (Parent Handout + Data Collection Organizer)

A combination of two great products for classifying the 4 communication functions. I use the blank one during language samples and for weekly data collection, and the one with info on it for describing this concept to parents. I find it useful for early intervention, gestalt language processing, autism, and early childhood apraxia.

Helpful handout to explain the complexity approach to parents (and ourselves!) I use this when I need a refresher to guide which sounds I should be targeting for my clients with phonological sound errors. I like the waterfall analogy because it's one of the few things in nature where we start at the top to create change towards the bottom!

Organizer for the 4 communication functions (labels, protests, comments, and requests). I use this with my expressive language delay, autism, AAC, and gestalt language clients to categorize each of their utterances during language samples and during our regular sessions.

Parent handout to explain the four communication functions (labels, protests, comments, & requests). I use this to explain language functions for early intervention, autism, gestalt language processing, and AAC. I also use it as the speech therapist myself to classify utterances into these categories.

Gestalt vs. Analytic Language Development

Comparison of gestalt language processing and analytic language processing. I find this to be a helpful list of traits when introducing GLP to parents. It's a brief summary for parents to reference at home. Note that every child may not be 100% gestalt or analytic, but rather, have some gestalt traits and some analytic traits.
