This is a social story about independence for your students! In the story it promotes doing tasks independently and continuing to try before asking for help. This is very beneficial for students who may need some encouragement when it comes to completing tasks such as dressing/undressing, putting on or taking off shoes, packing their belongings, gathering their own materials, etc.

If you are struggling teaching your little ones how to wait their turn to talk, this social story is perfect for you! You could introduce it as a large group or for individual students.

Want to teach your students more about emotions? The mood chart is something we use in my classroom every day! Not only is it fun, it helps us practice our social emotional skills. The only other materials you would need is a poster board, 4 pieces of construction paper (red, blue, yellow and green), and if you choose, velcro stickers for their names.
