Art Social Change & Advocacy Project: Students read short explanations and facts about eight different world issues. They may research these (and others of their choice) more extensively, if desired. Students choose an issue they care about, and create an art poster that persuades others to create social change. Their artwork will creatively advocate for their cause, as well as inspire and educate others.

Looking for a fun project that asks students to think and reflect on their feelings? This 3-D cube activity will be a great way to learn information about your students, and can be a great jumping-off point for students to share personal thoughts and feelings. The final cubes make a wonderful bulletin board. I glued (hot or cool glue) an edge of each cube on a piece of cardstock, so all 6 sides of the cube could be read while on display. This is a great Back to School or Beginning of the School Year Math activity! Students reflect on their summer vacation activities, compute how much time was spent doing various things (sleeping, traveling, etc.), and convert those amounts of time into percentages. This Tic-Tac-Toe Menu is intended for your "quick finishers," "high students," and/or students needing extensions/challenges. After reading a book, students choose three boxes in a row, and complete the tasks. Most tasks are at the Analysis, Synthesis, or Evaluation levels of Bloom's Taxonomy.

Students create hues with paint that match a magazine picture. Next, students create a color scheme by mixing tints and shades from the original hues. It's best to copy this activity on white construction paper or card stock.
