Teaching style

My teaching approach combines observation, data collection, modeling, explanation, and scientific discussion to help students build understanding through authentic outdoor experiences. Each resource is designed to support NGSS science practices while remaining practical, flexible, and easy to implement in real classrooms.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have led student learning through citizen science projects, environmental stewardship experiences, and community-connected investigations that help students apply science in meaningful ways. My work has been recognized through honors including Teacher of the Year and grants supporting outdoor learning and nature journaling.

My own education history

My background includes advanced training in science education, curriculum design, environmental studies, and secondary science instruction. I hold a master’s degree in Teacher Leadership and additional professional training in AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Environmental Science.
