Learning to Soar

This project was created as a fun way for students to show understanding of the different ways they learned to ADD within 20. Number bond to make 10, Ten Frame to make 10, Count on with math model, Count on using a Number line, Make a math drawing and write an equation. Students use nine sided dice to roll the two addends they will use. Then they complete the snowman based on those two addends rolled. Students take task card and use stickers to create equal groups based on the repeated addition equation on the task card.

Number Bond practice cards decomposing #'s 1-10. To make- Print on cardstock, cut and place in a 4X6 plastic photo album. Place in math center or make a set for each student. Then have students use dry erase EXPO markers to make number sentences for each number bond represented. Shady Arrays task cards- students pick a task card and shade in the array on the recording sheet to match. Enrichment could include having students write 2 repeated addition equations or having them write a matching multiplication equation. *This is a pdf file.
