Numerical Prefix Monster: Words their Way Sort 25/26

I created this resource as a follow-up activity from teaching words their way sorts 25 and 26 (Greek and Latin Elements Numerical Prefixes). Students will apply/extend their knowledge of numerical prefixes to create a "Numerical Prefix Monster." My students loved this activity and it was engaging for them to do rather than spew out answers on a traditional "fill in the blank" or "matching" worksheet. It also makes for a really cute hallway display!

Valetine's Day Volume Math Box Project

This Valentine's Day Volume Box Extension Project is a great way to connect volume concepts to hands-on real life, hands-on math for your students! Students will need to bring in a box (cereal, shoe, cracker, soda, whatever works!) from home for this project prior to completing this. We did the math work before the decorating. What's my Right: A Bill of Rights Application and Connection Activity!

This is an application/connection activity that I created for my fifth grade students. Students are given a scenario where they have to name the amendment from the Bill of Rights that applies to the scenario. My students love doing these! An opportunity for early finishers/enrichment is to have students come up with a scenario on their own and have a partner/group/class guess their amendment!
