About the store
With 20+ years of experience teaching elementary aged children, I have found my passion of teaching kindergartners for the last 14 years. I feel very lucky to get to spend most of my work days with some of my favorite people. I love the look of confidence they get when they have mastered a skill and the boost they get from realizing they are smart and very capable of doing hard things like read and add. If you love teaching kindergarteners and have fun while doing it then you're in the right place.

Experience

With 20+ years of experience teaching elementary aged children, I have found my passion of teaching kindergartners for the last 14 years. I feel very lucky to get to spend most of my work days with some of my favorite people. I love the look of confidence they get when they have mastered a skill and the boost they get from realizing they are smart and very capable of doing hard things like read and add. If you love teaching kindergarteners and have fun while doing it then you're in the right place.

Teaching style

My classroom is always full of music, laughter and smiles. I love encouraging my student to be their best and try to lead by example. My favorite resources are research-based, differentiated, fun, hands-on and engaging. I Iove being silly with my students and helping them have the confidence to try to do challenging things while in a safe space with people they trust.

Awards & shining teacher moments

In 2020, the Indiana superintendent of public schools named all teachers that were working through the pandemic the Indiana Teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. Inducted into Kappa Delta Phi September of 2023. My kindergarten teaching peers named me the leader of the kindergarten teachers in my elementary and I was chosen to be the Kindergarten representative for the district curriculum committee during 2023-2024 school year.

My own education history

MEd in Elementary Education with a literacy focus from American College of Education in July 2024. Graduated from Marian University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and an Endorsement in Kindergarten.

Additional biographical information

As a wife and mother, I understand how challenging being a working parent can be and how finding quality resources for your students can help you be able to spend more time with your family. As someone who has worked with many students, including my own children, who had diagnosed and undeclared learning challenges, I make my resources with them in mind. I believe that all children have a right to learn the way that works best for them and I like to try new and creative approaches to help all of my students become successful and become life long learners.
