This is the activity sheet and graphic organizer for a Classroom Casino. This a great activity where students get an opportunity to display what they've learned about Theoretical and Experimental Probability. Students really get the opportunity to use their probability knowledge in an authentic learning experience. My kids had a great time with their casino. I provided the games hosts with "money" and invited two other classes who each had money to spend. Afterwards, students are prompted to w

This is a grade 7 survival guide procedural writing learning task that is a terrific way to end the year. Students get the opportunity to reflect on their learning experience over the course of the year and create a book (guide) to enlighten the next year's group on how to make it through the year. Sharing the survival guide of your current students with next year's students is an engaging way to break the ice with your new group in September! My kids have had as much fun with the arts and craft
With this learning task, students are given the opportunity to explore and teach about the Royal Government in New France via a "Digital Lesson" that they create using a variety of technologies. I've had created works done including Jean Talon raps and stop motion lego depictions of the development of New France as a Royal colony under the King's Colonial Government! The kids do great stuff! I have a peer and self assessment organizer also available for this learning task; just ask!

My students love this classroom challenge. We explore a variety of biographies and current events! In addition we look at Time Magazine's Person of the Year and the qualities of the people that influence our world. This learning task involves a classroom challenge where students prepare persuasive media presentations in addition to biographies of their own candidates for Person of the Century. It's interesting to see some of their choices! Bieber was a tough sell for me...lol
