I have been a high school teacher for over 20 years. I have taught biology, chemistry, physics, and marine science.
I have written science material for an educational publishing company in both the UK and in Spain.
Students perform a simple distillation procedure. There is a method and diagram to help them set up the equipment. Students boil the ink mixture and collect the distillate. They will then write a description of what has happened using the keywords. This experiment should be performed after students have some knowledge of distillation.
I set these tasks in a cover lesson for my students. They were able to find the information in their books and using the internet.

Teaching style
I teach examination classes so I am interested in ways in generating student interest in science while also making the material stick. Not every student spends hours revising for exams so I have spent time working on resources to develop their retrieval skills within the class.
I have also used a lot more formative assessment tasks in class which can be used as knowledge organizers for topics.
I don't want to be spending ages cutting out and preparing resources. My resources are all ready to go - use them digitally or print.
