About the store
My first year teaching was with a wonderful 4th grade class that I was lucky to have again because after that year I was move up to 6th grade reading and language arts. I spent 8 years in that position until switching to 6th grade math. After 4 years teaching math, I left my job to stay home with my 2 children. I returned to teaching 2 years later teaching 6th grade science part-time with a teacher I taught with before. After 2 years of sharing a class, I returned to the classroom full time. I am currently teaching 5th grade math, science, and language arts.

Experience

My first year teaching was with a wonderful 4th grade class that I was lucky to have again because after that year I was move up to 6th grade reading and language arts. I spent 8 years in that position until switching to 6th grade math. After 4 years teaching math, I left my job to stay home with my 2 children. I returned to teaching 2 years later teaching 6th grade science part-time with a teacher I taught with before. After 2 years of sharing a class, I returned to the classroom full time. Teaching style

I don't feel as though I have a particular style. My style is dictated by my students and what they need. What I do consider myself, though, is a cheerleader for learning. I get excited when kids "get it" and will give high-fives. I have been known to break out into an occasional "happy dance" when good things happen in the classroom. And regardless of the times, I still give kids hugs when they need one.

Additional biographical information

I enjoy camping with my family. Our goal is to travel to all 50 states before our kids graduate from high school. In 2014, our state count hit 48! Of course we will fly to Hawaii, and I refuse to drive to Alaska because you have to drive back. We will fly there, too...I still want to love everyone after that trip, and them to still love me :-)
