Part, Whole, Percent Proportion: Student Grades

This activity requires students to the the part, whole, percent proportion to answer questions about a particular student's grades. Students are required to identify part, whole, and percent and then use the proportion to find the missing part. Students can work in small groups or individually. An extension is included that reviews average and uses WICOR and AP strategies. Teacher, directions, student grade cards, and a recording table are included.

Teaching style

My teaching style is group oriented and learner centered. I try to use an exploratory approach when teaching math so that students can understand why a certain formula or algorithm works.

I was awarded the "Heartbeat" award for my school district and have been selected as a demonstration teacher for my school district.
