Use the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff to teach and practice cause and effect and "If...then" statements with your students. They will love the book and being able to relate the skill to their own lives through this hands-on activity.

I have compiled 50+ thought-provoking questions and quotes for students to reflect upon and discuss either in morning meeting, small groups, or journal entries. To make it more fun, I have titled the project "Food for Thought" and pasted them to the back of pictures of food.
