Self Assessing Monthly Math Art - 3rd grade
Students will self assess their understanding of taught mathematical concepts as they plug in numbers to solve a word problem that challenges them with the appropriate level of rigor. These word problems are two step addition/subtraction problems, that progress into multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division as the year goes on. Each month you have a page that shows the numberless word problem, then a page that tells students what numbers to plug in according to their self assessment,

I believe in the power of relationships. Once students feel comfortable, safe, and loved - they are willing and ready to take the risks necessary to learn in the classroom.
