When I began creating and collecting my teaching materials for my elementary VAAP - VESOL binders, I realized I wanted to have a page in the front that would give me a quick overview of the skills required for each of my elementary students. I developed these data collection sheets to plan my lessons as well as chart my students' progress. I hope you will find them useful.

This ppt is designed for whole group instruction or since I have included answer slides - it can be printed onto cards and used for a matching activity for individual practice or center activity. Meets the VAAP VESOL M3-15 standard for Virginia.

This file teaches and reinforces visual multiplication using the factors 5 and less and 4 and less. Each visual equation is followed by the correct number sentence. 60+ slides. Although this was created for the VESOL M3-7, it is an excellent resource for teaching that multiplication is "groups of". Use in power point form or print off the cards for matching.

This activity allows ready made material to teach the VESOL VAAP M3-11 The student will determine perimeter of equilateral triangles and squares. Complexity Continuum: Equilateral triangles or squares with sides that have lengths from 1 to 5 units. 21 slides support each triangle and square in the complexity continuum. This package includes a power point with visual representations for numbers 1-20 including halves. This file contains activities to teach and reinforce the concepts of one more and one less. These can be used individually, in a center or whole group. Single use or print on cardstock and laminate.

This activity teaches and reinforces VESOL M3-14 - 3rd grade math The student will: Use attributes of circles, triangles, and squares to identify shapes. Complexity Continuum: Circles, triangles, and squares could be presented in simple pictures, diagrams, models, or representations. The first page is a cloze activity to identify shapes by attribute. The next two pages are "representations" of circles, squares, and triangles for the student to cut and sort based on number of sides and corners

This activity page includes all rectangles and squares on the complexity continuum with areas of 4 units up to 16 units. It is designed to teach and reinforce the VESOL VAAP M3-12 - 3rd Grade Math. Also included is a grid which is approximately the same size of Cheese square snacks which can be a fun way to also reinforce the skill with hands on materials.

This is a 50 slide ppt that has coin combinations up to $.25 to practice the Virginia 3rd grade math VESOL M3-8. The student will match and count coins through 25 cents. Students can simply match the coins on the screen, identifying values and work toward counting each slide. Next slide has correct value for students to check. These could also be printed off and used for matching. Correlates with Virginia SOL 3.6a.
