When I began creating and collecting my teaching materials for my elementary VAAP - VESOL binders, I realized I wanted to have a page in the front that would give me a quick overview of the skills required for each of my elementary students. I developed these data collection sheets to plan my lessons as well as chart my students' progress. I hope you will find them useful.

This activity teaches and reinforces VESOL M3-14 - 3rd grade math The student will: Use attributes of circles, triangles, and squares to identify shapes. Complexity Continuum: Circles, triangles, and squares could be presented in simple pictures, diagrams, models, or representations. The first page is a cloze activity to identify shapes by attribute. The next two pages are "representations" of circles, squares, and triangles for the student to cut and sort based on number of sides and corners
This activity page includes all rectangles and squares on the complexity continuum with areas of 4 units up to 16 units. It is designed to teach and reinforce the VESOL VAAP M3-12 - 3rd Grade Math. Also included is a grid which is approximately the same size of Cheese square snacks which can be a fun way to also reinforce the skill with hands on materials.
