This is a great activity to use when teaching about biomes, ecosystems, food chains/food webs, etc. It sounds difficult but isn't, and my 5th grade students enjoy doing this activity every year. This would be appropriate for students up to 7th or 8th grade, and it would also be a good activity for an older special needs student, depending upon his/her abilities. This is an activity worksheet/labsheet to use when teaching science process skills. It is for use when teaching about "predicting". The teacher passes out a small cup of M & Ms. The instructions are on the labsheet. The student may eat the M & Ms after completing the activity worksheet/labsheet. Of course, it is important that the teacher checks to determine if anyone in the class has a food allergy to chocolate or other ingredients in the candy. This activity could also be modified to use

Math teachers in North Carolina of grades 5-8 are required to teach their students how to express their answers in open- or gridded responses boxes for their End-of-Grade tests. This activity helps students to not only practice their skills at dividing by one-digit numbers but to also practice how to enter answers in the gridded-response boxes. Can be used for any other state, too, but is geared toward North Carolina. Enjoy!

This is a short biography and crossword puzzle on the life of Sacajawea. The reading level is about 6.1. Could be used as part of differentiated instruction or a project. Is mostly aimed at 5th-8th graders but could also be used with an upper level 4th grade class.
