In this lesson, students make a think about their background knowledge of litter in their schoolyard/local park and make a hypothesis. They then go and pick up litter while tallying the different types of items they find, this information is then put into a graph. Students then fill out a results sheet with their findings and conclusion and write about how they see improving the amount of litter as an individual, class, and community. This lesson is perfect around Earth Day.
