This PowerPoint has nine common comma rules for teaching the basics of comma usage. Each slide has a rule and one or two examples of using that particular rule in a sentence. I have also incorporated comma memes/jokes that apply to a couple of the rules to keep students entertained. Students can copy notes or I also have a comma rule fill in the blank note sheet that goes along with the PowerPoint in my store.
This is a list of vocabulary words with a space for students to write out the definitions. There is a power point in my store that goes along with it that has each of the definitions written out. This is very simple with many court terms they use in the book.
This Google Form can be used as a quiz or a pre and post quiz. This quiz includes the following Reading Strategies and answer key: preview, predict, connect, visualize, question, infer, summarize, and evaluate. Give this to students at the beginning of the year to see what they know or don't know before digging in.
This book report layout is designed so students can write in as they are reading. It is to be used for fictional text, It includes plot, conflict, author's purpose, setting, summary, and the connection reading strategy. It is simple and student friendly. Each section has individual instructions.

Spear by Julius Lester is always a favorite short story every year read by students. This worksheet is for identifying theme. It also give students an opportunity work with a partner and have a discussion around the theme or themes of the story. Great for whole group discussion as well!
This is a very simple worksheet on Google Forms for synonym and antonym practice. There are pairs of words and the student will simply answer if the sets of words are synonyms or antonyms. The Google Form will automatically correct and give you the scores.
I use this worksheet when my students do Teen Biz. This worksheet has a space for vocabulary, Multiple choice, Text Connections, and their score. The way I do it is I have them write down the vocab in the space provided. Some days we go over it together and other days I have them use the back to draw vocab maps. This worksheet is for student's to use after completing their first Level Set of the school year in the Achieve 3000/Teen Biz program. They will need to go into the Achieve 3000 Career Center and explore careers and what lexile they will need in order to be successful in that career. Students will then answer questions about their chosen career.
