Resource Room Lesson Plan Template

This is the lesson plan template that I use for each small group that I teach and my Educational Assistant teaches in our Resource Room. I added the "notes from teacher to teacher" so that we can keep in touch about special circumstances or things to be aware of, since we don't get too much time to check in throughout the day :)

Sticky Note Long Division Strategy

This is a strategy that I learned about awhile ago, but needed some way to explain it to parents so that they can use the same strategy at home. Students can keep this handout in their math journals to reference and it's also a nice go-to for classroom teachers who may have not heard of this strategy before! The strategy really helps kids go one step at a time and line up their numbers as the move through long division equations using the standard algorithm.

This is a simple data collection form to use with students in small reading groups. I typically pair it with a consonant clusters / alphabet linking chart that we use.

I have a couple of students who need a break from their classroom throughout the day. I print this off, copy it back-to-back on colored card stock and then laminate it. It is a quick pass to give a student who needs a break in the office. It is alterable so that you can make it work for your own student(s).

This is a quick note to pass along with students when they earn a special lunch with you in your classroom! I typically send the note with students when they go back to their general education classroom to share with their teacher. It is also nice for them to use as a pass when coming to my room for their special lunch. Welcoming kids in to our classroom who do not receive Resource support is wonderful! This helps the kids all around the school get to know who I am and what we do in our class.

I cut this paper into small slips to pass along with kids when they earn free computer time in my classroom. It is a nice way for general education teachers to be aware and for students to use this as their hall pass.
