This circuit using the distance and midpoint formulas is a great review of these two topics! It is self checking, which is a great formative check for teachers. The distance formula questions also touch on reducing radicals. Students begin in the first box, find the answer, then search for it at the top of another questions box. Then they will answer that question. The final question will lead them back to the first box. This can be used as a knowledge check after the unit, or a quick review be

This segment addition postulate (line segment addition) matching activity asks students to solve for the variable x, by setting up and solving equations using the segment addition postulate. You can also use this activity as a cut and paste! Students will work problems that have them draw the line segment to solve. Students will also need to know what a midpoint of a segment is in order to solve some problems. This can be used as a knowledge check after the unit, or a quick review before a test

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching high school math for 12 years. I began my teaching journey in Alabama, then Louisiana and now I am in Florida. I have taught everything between upper middle class and title one schools. I have taught supplemental Algebra 1, Algebra 1 regulars and honors, Geometry regulars and honors, AP Calculus AB and AICE Math AS.

Teaching style

I believe that in order to be a "math person" you must simply be a person and do math. All students can succeed if they put in the work. I do a healthy mix of activities, student lead discussion, hands on activities and explicit instruction.

My own education history

I have a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Math Education from The University of Alabama.
