This item is based on the Project Read system, which I did not create. I made this small set of flash cards to use in my interventions. I will add each set as I go. I use them not only as flash cards to flash to a small group. I also have the students flip them over as a game and say each word: if they say it correctly, they keep the card. I use this PowerPoint to have students pick the word (from two choices) that rhymes with the word at the top of the sheet. Use without showing for Phonemic Awareness. Present on the board in order to point out similarities and differences and match the rime. Print and laminate for center activities.

This poster is a reminder that chatter isn't necessary. I tell my kids pretty often that "commentary is not necessary," and I find them telling each other in the hall this if someone is mumbling and grumbling about what the teacher is telling them to do.
