About the store

Experience

Special education and Deaf/hard of hearing teacher with a passion for emotional/behavioral self-regulation, social skills, and language! I taught students with emotional/behavioral disabilities in a resource-style program for two years and I currently teach students that are Deaf/hard of hearing.

Teaching style

I believe that students must take ownership of their learning before they can be successful. My goal is to empower my students with the social/behavioral and communication skills they need to be successful in their general education classes (and in their futures), so that they no longer need my support. If I set my expectations high, my students will meet them! More than anything, if I teach my students with care, love, and respect, I believe that they will grow into the amazing young people I know they can be (and often already are)!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Graduated from my undergraduate program as a double major (special education and Deaf education) with a 4.0 GPA. Presented research at the CEC 2015 Annual Conference on Deaf/Hard of Hearing students with Autism.

My own education history

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (PreK-age 22), May 2017 Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Education (PreK-age 22), May 2017 Master's Degree in Early Intervention for Students with Sensory Disabilities (birth-age 3), expected May 2022

Additional biographical information

Life outside of teaching includes spending time with family and friends and eating delicious foods. In June 2020 I began my master's program in early intervention for students with sensory disabilities.
