Loving Third Grade

This worksheet can be used to teach or review how to solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators. It also provides opportunities for students to solve problems where the answer equals an improper fraction, requiring them to change their answer to a mixed number.

In Virginia, our SOL's state that third graders only need to understand and use the commutative and identity properties of multiplication and addition. This worksheet can be used to teach or review how to solve word problems involving elapsed time. The time increments are only on the hour. For example: 1:15-3:15 or 12:00-3:00.

This sort was created to review VA Math SOL 3.1a. Students can sort the cards to identify the standard, word and expanded forms for given numbers up to the hundred thousands place. I printed each form on a different colored card stock paper and use it in my math centers and for remediation.
