About the store
I've been a teacher for 20 years and have taught at all levels (3rd grade to college). I believe all students can learn but not in the same way nor the same day. I feel my instructional materials have helped hundreds of students over the course of my career as I post them on our LMS after introducing them in class so they have an ongoing reference. School didn’t come very easy to me, so as I create materials I consider people like young me.

Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies is an engaging dystopic novel that was written in 2005 but contains themes that are relevant today.  This bundle is in a slideshow form and breaks down the novel by chapter or chapters with links to activities. The unit culminates with students writing an argumentative essay. I have linked all necessary resources into this one slideshow, so no need to download a million separate files from a zip drive.

Learning subordinating and coordinating conjunctions is essential for 9th-grade students because these small but powerful words help us connect ideas and create more complex sentences. Coordinating conjunctions, such as "and," "but," and "or," allow us to join equal parts of a sentence, making our writing clearer and more engaging. On the other hand, subordinating conjunctions like "although," "because," and "when" help us show the relationship between different ideas, indicating cause and effe

The Importance of a Daily Agenda in the Classroom: A daily agenda plays a crucial role in the classroom by providing students with a clear overview of what to expect throughout the day. It serves as a preview of the lessons and activities planned, helping students prepare mentally and stay organized. By outlining the expected outcomes, students can focus on their learning goals and understand what they need to achieve by the end of the lesson. Additionally, a daily agenda acts as a valuable res

Experience

I've been a teacher for 20 years and have taught at all levels (3rd grade to college). I believe all students can learn but not in the same way nor the same day. Teaching style

I had a principal once tell me that in class the one who is talking is the one who is learning. I have kept this in mind throughout my 19 years of teaching. So, in my classroom I try to say the bare minimum and get the students either talking to a partner, small group, or the whole room as quick as possible.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was honored with the Teacher of the Year at my High School for the 2024-2025 School year.

My own education history

I am grateful for the opportunity to share my teaching experience. I taught 5th grade for four years, then moved to a new middle school where I taught 8th grade English for 11 years. For the past four years I have taught 9th grade English. I have also served as adjunct faculty for elementary literacy instruction and for secondary English student teaching at the University of Northern Colorado.
