After they write a story or paragraph, I always have my students complete a proofreading activity. This helps to make proofreading an automatic part of the writing process. This checklist can be used at writing centers or given as homework. Students can also use these forms when proofreading other students' writing.

Teaching style

I love helping my students become successful readers and writers! Helping a student achieve literacy is a wonderful accomplishment. My goal is to help as many students as possible to become successful learners whether this is by providing them with direct individualized instruction or by giving them instructional tools to enable improvement of their literacy skills.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I love being able to help former non-readers keep up with the material presented at their grade level.
