Texas Teachers… use these readiness questions in ways to best suit your student’s needs. You can use one question per warm up, you can mix them and spiral the questions, you can use them in quizzes and/or tests.

Here are 92 questions that you can use in class as exit tickets, homework questions, quiz questions, or even test questions :) Each box has a section called "Title." What I ask the students to do is to read the question and give it a math title based on the TEKS. For example, if the question is asking to them to put fractions, decimals, and percents in order, then they can title it "Compare and Order Rational Numbers." This will get them to train their brains how to categorize word problems.

Spiral Homework

Homework must be purposeful and intentional.  These three homework pages gives the students only four questions per day, mostly word problems, and the questions are spiraled.  The amount of questions per day is reasonable and not excessive. The reason for spiraling is because there is NO point of teaching something and not re-visiting it constantly.  This will aid the students in keeping their strengths throughout the school year instead of waiting until the last few weeks before the state exam.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been awarded teacher of the year by my peers and also awarded teacher of the year by the students. In addition, I was recognized and honored by the school board at Klein ISD.
