Assess your students listening skills with these short five question assessments. The questions focus on key points and details from the read aloud. There is an assessment for each story in the CKLA Ancient Civilization Domain.
Help your students learn and keep track of the important vocabulary words in this domain. They will define each word, draw a corresponding picture, and use the word in a sentence. Students can add one word daily to go along with the story or use this as a review at the end of the domain.
For this activity, I put my students into groups. Each group will state in their own words what they learned in class today and then create a challenge problem or a problem for another group to solve based on what was taught during the lesson. After the group creates a challenge problem, switch papers, and have another group solve the problem. I give my students points for stating what the lesson was about, being able to create a problem based on our lesson, and for solving another challenge
