This is a challenge activity for students to use a variety of materials to create a building that will be subjected to an "earthquake" to see how it fares. Students need to make a blueprint, build their structure, transfer their structure to an earthquake shake table (I made my own as they are expensive. I suppose you could also just shake a desk...), watch the destruction, and answer analysis questions. A rubric for the challenge is included. This is a fun challenge for hands-on learners

This was created by me to visaully show content in leiu of a study guide to represent material in a unit on oceanography, ocean water, and the water cycle. For more visual learners, this document uses color, shapes/outlines, and graphics to connect and scaffold content. All content is filled in for study purposes and helping visual learners and ESL students. Could be adapted by boxing over content and making more of a "fill in the blank" approach. MAB
