Experience

Hey! I’m Maddie 👋 I’ve been teaching middle school math for 5 years - covering Math 7/8, Algebra, & Geometry. I design my own classroom decor and activities with organization, engagement, and real middle schoolers in mind. Everything I post here is tested and loved in my own classroom first! Follow me on Instagram for more math fun - @madsaboutmath 💖

Teaching style

My classroom is structured but silly - we get things done, but we also laugh a lot. I love using interactive notebooks, color-coded organization, and humor to help middle schoolers stay engaged and make math stick. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, seen, and a little entertained.

My own education history

I’m a proud Rutgers grad where I earned my BA in Sociology, followed by my EdM in Elementary Education from Rutgers Graduate School of Education, with a specialization in 5–8 Mathematics. My training gave me a strong foundation in both student connection and curriculum design - and it’s helped me create resources that are meaningful, engaging, and made for real classrooms!

Additional biographical information

When I’m not teaching or designing classroom resources, I’m probably at the beach or cuddling with my dog Bo and my cat Max. I started this TPT shop to help busy teachers and their big thinkers thrive, with effective resources that save time and bring joy to the classroom 💖
