About the store

Experience

I have taught 11-12th grade English Language Arts including AP English as well as a wide variety of humanities electives for grades 9-12 for twelve years at a private school in Minneapolis, MN. I have also been the Academic Chair of the ELA department for 6 years.

Teaching style

I enjoy a mix of hands-on, paired learning, lecture, and discussion. I try to incorporate pop culture, music, and movies where ever possible, as I find it appeals to students so much more, causing their learning to increase. It's like sneaking vegetables in your toddler's spaghetti sauce. My students don't always recognize when they are learning, because they are focused on enjoyment. That's what learning should be the majority of the time: fun!
