I have been teaching for over 20 years. Most of my time has been spent teaching middle grades mathematics. I also have taught some high school math courses and started off my teaching career as an Elementary school teacher.
This file has 50 multiple choice questions that are based on the Common Core Standards for 7th grade Mathematics. It makes for a wonderful Pre-Assessment for the school year, or a Prior Knowledge Assessment. I have even used a version of this as a practice exam before the NYS Math Assessment and/or part of a Final Assessment for the end of the year. It is in Word, so it can be easily modified to suit your needs.
An answer key is included on the last page. Thanks!
Do your students regularly mix up the difference between "factors" and "multiples". Mine do all the time. This large poster (2'x3') shows gives a basic definition of each term and an example of each. It is ready to have printed out and laminated. It can also be easily resized if it is too large for your needs. If you do not have MS Publisher, buy this poster and send me a message with your email. I can send you a small PDF version. It is great for interactive notebooks.

Being able to understand Scientific Notation is important for students in middle and high school science classes. And it's the job of the MATH teachers to see that they do understand. These are a set of "fill in the blank" style notes for writing and comparing numbers in Scientific Notation. They are easy enough for 5th graders but direct enough to be a quick review for older students. These notes are ready to copy for students, and have a teachers edition for filling in the blanks.
