About the store
I am a mathematician (actuary) that decided to grow a conscience and teach math! I have a degree in mathematics and a masters in actuarial science and education. I have taught all courses at the high school level and math for elementary teachers at the university. I have taught middle school math for a gifted and highly gifted magnet. I was a math trainer for 4 years as well.

Experience

I am a mathematician (actuary) that decided to grow a conscience and teach math! I have a degree in mathematics and a masters in actuarial science and education. I have taught all courses at the high school level and math for elementary teachers at the university. I have taught middle school math for a gifted and highly gifted magnet. I was a math trainer for 4 years as well.

Teaching style

My teaching style is inquiry based mathematics where students build their own knowledge. I try to avoid procedural teaching as much as possible, but encourage students to develop working procedures on their own. As a teacher, I believe in being a facilitator rather than the "sage on the stage." I love hands-on manipulatives, games, songs, plays, centers, or whatever engages my current batch of students.
