I am currently tutoring high school sophomores and juniors and was surprised they could not read statements like "2 < x". This confused them - they knew that the wide end was the bigger number, but just couldn't say 2 is less than x.
So, I put together an I have/Who has game to use in small groups where they see the symbols and have to read them. Nothing hard, just 5 minutes of practice. There is also a cut-apart dominoes version so that students can create a loop of statements.
