Middle Grades ELA Common Core Toolbox: Printables for Nearly Every Standard
The Middle Grades ELA Common Core Toolbox contains 77 learning activities aligned to the CCSS for grades 6-8. It includes printables that can be used multiple times throughout the year to address nearly all of the standards in reading literature and informational texts, and many of the speaking and listening, writing, and language standards. It also has two pages of writing prompts and warm-ups. The Standards Guide at the end details the CCSS that correspond to each printable.

Experience
I taught middle grades language arts for 21 years in a variety of settings, including gifted, collaborative special education, Title I, and International Baccalaureate.
Teaching style
As a kinesthetic learner myself, I prefer to use hands-on and collaborative learning activities, and I like to incorporate music, art, and drama in my lessons.
Awards & shining teacher moments
Over 40 students published locally and nationally, including writing competitions and my state's gifted education newsletter.
Co-founded the English Vertical Team at my middle school in cooperation with the local high school. Developed, with the Vertical Team, a comprehensive 6-8 grade SAT vocabulary word program and a summer reading program. This resulted in a significant rise in SAT scores at the high school.
My students in the various settings, including gifted, general education, and co-taught special education, had the highest or close to the highest scores in every public school I ever worked for.

B.A. and M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies.
