I have been teaching middle school math for over 20 years. I have taught all middle school grades in math and science. Currently, I am a math interventionist for 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Michigan. This product was designed with Building Thinking Classrooms in mind. These two tasks are designed for a low floor high ceiling assignment or thin sliced lesson plan. This could be used for a higher order thinking lesson on ratio and proportion or a multi-step problem. This would be a great activity for a Formative Assessment and/or Exit Ticket. Experience

I have been teaching middle school math for over 20 years. I have taught all middle school grades in math and science. Currently, I am a math interventionist for 6th, 7th and 8th graders in Michigan. Teaching style

I teach most of my lessons traditionally and utilize Kagan strategies. I am learning about Building Thinking Classrooms and I am realizing how valuable this strategy is for the middle school grades.
