Students can practice decomposing fractions using these Matching cards. Each composed fraction card has 3 decomposed fraction cards that go with it. You can use these cards for Math Centers or for Math Stations. You can also play concentration with these cards. New TEKS 2014-2015 4.3(B) decompose a fraction in more than one way into a sum of fractions with the same denominator using concrete and pictorial models and recording results with symbolic representations. This chart is great for interactive notebooks. You could also laminate it and use it in stations. I am going to have my student roll dice and fill in the top part of the chart with the numbers that they roll. Afterwards they will represent that number in Expanded Notation.
