Calculating Unit Rate
This is a great real life activity to help students understand the application of Unit Rate. Students can look at real products in different sizes and determine what the better purchase is. There are many ways to use this activity, but a favorite of mine is to print the pictures and laminate them. I then lay them out on a table and allow the kids to pick one at a time until they complete the number of items I want them to do. I usually require them to do at least 10, but you can increase or
