This is a great real life activity to help students understand the application of Unit Rate. Students can look at real products in different sizes and determine what the better purchase is. There are many ways to use this activity, but a favorite of mine is to print the pictures and laminate them. This a tiered activity that includes solving real life application problems with percents. Students will calcualte tax, tip and coupons. There are 3 tiers of problems so it lends it self to differentation. Answer key is also included. This can be used as a problem solving mission, an entrance or exit ticket, quiz or a homework assigment.

My own education history

I graduated from UGA in 2000 with a degree in special eduction I then graduated from Kennesaw State University with a masters in special education in 2003 and then with my specialist from Lincoln Memorial University in 2006.
