Math does Count

This is a great overview of ratios, rates and unit rates. Included are guided notes that can be used with the power point. An extra sheet has been included that can be used as an exit ticket, homework, or for whole group work.

This power point takes you through teaching the kids how to do GCF and LCM word problems. The first few slides are just based on pictures and problenms so the kids make actual groups of things so they grasp the concept of what is happening before you teach them the process of doing GCF and LCM. I have also included a slide of key words.

My school has asked for teachers to teach 5 lessons to help us gain the status of a green school. I designed this lesson as a part of that initiative. There is power point that has some basic statistics about why we should recycle and specific things about how paper, plastic and aluminum effect our environment.
