These are half page notes to be glued or taped into an interactive math journal. Notes for Teachers: I use these notes in my students' interactive math journals. As we discuss what makes a number rational vs. irrational, we fill in the blanks and convert each of the numbers on the rational side to fractions. This is an excellent reference for students to go back and review exactly how to distinguish between rational and irrational numbers.

These lessons are in a textbook-style format with instructions and practice to be used after a teacher's lecture on these topics. Lesson 3 is on Adding Real Numbers, and has students practicing adding positive and negative integers, fractions, and decimals. Lesson 4 continues the concept with Subtracting Real Numbers, where students are required to convert subtraction problems into addition, to show understanding of additive inverses, before simplifying expressions.

This is a textbook-type packet that I give my Algebra students as homework after going over the concepts in class. Included in this set are: 1. Student version with lesson and Study & Practice worksheet 2. Teacher version with Answer Key Thumbnail images include the first and last page of the student version, and the third page from the answer key version.

This is a printable set of cards for the activity I Have... Who Has that covers integer operations. There are 36 cards in this set to cover a standard class size. If you have less than 36 kids, some can have two cards to finish the game.

This is a template for an interactive math journal entry about operations of real numbers. There are spots for the four operations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) with plenty of space underneath the flap to record important information or rules about each operation. Included in the preview is a look at what a finished foldable should look like.
