Daily Bell Work: 16 Weeks of Spiral Math Review

This is by far my favorite way to keep my students refreshed on previously learned concepts. I begin each class period with a daily spiral math review. (We only do bell work Monday-Thursday, we always test over new objectives on Friday.) Each day's work should take students 5-7 minutes to complete. Our math series does not offer a mixed review, so this allows me to be certain my students are receiving practice on concepts we have already learned. I use the graded data in many ways...if seve

Experience

I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 3rd grade, 5th grade science/ss/math, and 6th grade math. I am currently teaching 6th grade math...my favorite experience so far!

Teaching style

I am a visual learner and that is the way I teach my students. I use the Promethean board on a daily basis. I love to incorporate music, comics, and videos to help my students grasp the concept being taught. I am also a firm believer in drill and practice to help concepts "stick" with my students. I try to add a bit of humor (sometimes corny) to help get the point across.
