About the store

Experience

I've taught for 12 years working especially with students with disabilities. I design my content to support students with executive functioning, auditory processing, written language, and computation needs.

Teaching style

Workshop model with some exploration when appropriate. My population of students struggle with processing complex tasks, which makes exploratory models inappropriate for them until they have shown competency with essential skills. I strive for student centered learning, but I understand that until my kids have a solid foundation in the math needed, they can't access the general education curriculum in an exploratory model.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I was a teacher leader for 2 years. My students consistently make 2-3 years progress as shown in their standardized test scores.

My own education history

I have a masters in Special Education from Mercy college. I studied at Salem state college in Massachusetts. I taught in NYC for 9 years, and I've taught in VA now for 2 years. I have a lot of experience working with economically disadvantaged students. I love teaching math to my kids, and know they love the math too when they can access the content. They also need to stay busy, so most of the content I create is differentiated with less and more complex problem sets to ensure everyone has something to work on.

Additional biographical information

I'm a dad. I have a great four year old son and a great wife. I like to draw and mess around on computers. I am pretty into creating content for kids to support their organizational needs. So I'm always updating stuff. The extra money I earn from this is going to go directly into technology I need to create more online tools to flip the classroom so that videos of lessons can be watched at home on kids phones. Thanks for checking out my storefront.
