About the store
I started my career as an accountant. I taught economics, science, and mathematics at a small high school for many years. After earning my masters degree in math, I began teaching at the community college level. My children have renewed my interest in K-12 mathematics and I have been rewarded by discovering a blossoming online math community from which I can learn and develop as a college instructor.

Musical Fractions
Students will be introduced to musical notation: staff, time signatures, and note/rest duration. Music is used to convey whole, half, quarter, eighth, etc. and related to equations with fractions. California Water Project
Students apply math as well as reading and writing anchor standards while learning about water distribution, usage, and conservation in California. Math topics include advanced arithmetic, number sense, rates and proportions, measurement, and algebra. ELA topics include research in addition to writing informative and argumentative essays. Patterns: Pascals Triangle and Fractions
Students learnt about Pascal's Triangle and create a fraction triangle. The activity culminates with students drawing representation of the triangle depicting that each row adds to one.
