About the store
15 years upper elementary and junior high math. I don't teach just one concept a day, I teach all math concepts everyday. We add, subtract, multiply, and divide with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions starting from day 1 in my 5th grade classroom. My worksheets produce results!! Also, each one has an electronic ANSWER KEY to pass along to parents to help their child.

This is a comprehensive review of intermediate math as it relates to any statewide assessment for 5th and 6th grade level mathematics. The questions are written similarly to how my students are assessed each year. Key vocabulary words are used within the context of each question; some questions are wordy on purpose and provide several parts within the same question (answers also build within the question). This is a 39 slide PowerPoint file that I have used some to help prep kids for ISTEP, NWEA, PARCC, and other Common Core type assessments (feel free to click on preview to see all the questions). Most of these slides I will do each day as a way to start math class (bell ringer/1 or 2 per day leading up to testing). Teaching style
Never let the brain stop working. Stimulating the brain is most important. Constant review is always spiraled in lessons everyday. I use these worksheets and Power Points daily and frequently pop quiz to hold students accountable. All students are always randomly called on to keep them honest and engaged 3-4 times per class when whole group instruction is used; independent work time and small group instruction to rep out math problems are critical to do each day. Students are expected to work as the expectations are set high; it can be a culture shock to start the year, but students show great growth.
