Teaching style
I try to give as little information as necessary, and lead students to make their own connections through questioning. Ideally, I want to FIND or CREATE a reason for them to want or need to solve a problem, and then figure out how to solve it with as little interference from me as possible. I focus on the relationships in math. I want my students to develop number sense and reasoning and I believe we will get there if we focus on the BIG IDEAS... the most useful ways to take numbers apart and put them back together in different ways to suit our purposes at the time. And hopefully have a little fun doing it!

I have created all of my own teaching resources over the years and I can't seem to stop! Together, my husband and I have five children (and five jobs). Occasionally we eat and sleep. But not tonight.
