Let's face it... most of our students HATE word problems. Make word problem more engaging with this applications of systems of inequalities activity! This activity has students complete 4 problems in which they have to write a system of inequalities given a word problem and graph the system. One letter will be in their solution set, giving students the answer to the riddle! Answer key included!
This riddle activity is the perfect way for students to practice graphing linear inequalities. Students will graph 6 different linear inequalities. They will record the letters on the graph that fall in their solution sets on the lines provided to determine the answer to the riddle/joke! I've included two levels of this activity, making it perfect for differentiation. The first level has all inequalities written in slope-intercept form. The second version gets progressively more difficult, with
I love to color and so do my students! Incorporating art into my math practice never fails to increase engagment. This coloring activity has students write systems of equations from 6 different word problems and graph them. Then they color the picture based on the answers to the systems. Answer key included!
If your students are anything like mine, they love to color! Combining math practice with coloring never fails to engage them. This resource requires students to solve 7 absolute value equations to determine what colors to use in their artwork. Problems are scaffolded, starting easier and increasing in difficulty, to provide entry points for all! Problems include absolute values on one side of the equation and absolute values on both sides. Choose from 11 different coloring pages! Included are A
This is set of 3 arithmetic sequence worksheets. Included is a worksheet that requires students to determine if a sequence is arithmetic and to find the common difference, a worksheet in which students will write and use the explicit formula to find specific terms and, lastly, word problems! This trio is perfect for differentiation, review or math stations. Looking for more arithmetic sequence resources? Check out my arithmetic sequence coloring pages!
This cutting and pasting activity will get your students engaged in math practice! The activity has students determine the greatest common factor (GCF) of six polynomials. Then they will cut out the GCF and glue them next to the correct polynomials to complete the six hearts. There are two extra distractor answers so students can't just use process of elimination at the end.
Incorporating art into my math practice never fails to increase student engagement! In this activity, students will factor 8 different trinomials and color the adorable pineapple based on their answers. All of the trinomials have leading coefficients of one and b and c are positive. Answer key included!
I love having my students practice math while coloring. It keeps them engaged, reduces anxiety, improves focus and awakens both hemispheres of the brain at the same time! This coloring activity provides a parent function and a transformed function in each of the 7 problems. Students need to correctly identify the transformation applied in order to determine what color to color each part of the picture. The transformations are limited to vertical and horizontal shifts. The problems are scaffolded
If your students are anything like mine, they love to color! Combining math practice with coloring never fails to engage them. This resource requires students to solve 7 equations with variables on both sides in order to determine what colors to use in their artwork. The problems are scaffolded, beginning easier and increasing in difficulty, to provide an entry point for all! Choose from 11 different coloring pages! Included are Autumn, Winter, Spring, Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Than
This cutting and pasting activity will get your students engaged in math practice! The activity has students factor six binomials. The last two require students to factor completely (a GCF before the difference of two squares). Then they will cut out the factored form glue them next to the correct binomials to complete the six hearts. There are two extra distractor answers so students can't just use process of elimination at the end.
