I've been teaching middle and high school math since 2014. I currently teach Integrated Math 2 Honors, Probability Theory, Intro to Statistics, and AP Statistics. Over the last five years, the average passing rate for my classes in AP Statistics is over 75% (2024 - 80.5% w/ 54% 4's and 5's).

Parallel and Perpendicular Lines - Matching
Objective: To be able to determine whether lines are parallel or perpendicular to each other. Ways to use: In groups of 3-4, students will determine the slope of the lines on each card. Then, they will put the cards into groups of four. Each group of four cards will have two sets of parallel lines that are perpendicular to each other (ex: in Group 1, lines (1) and (2) will be parallel to each other, but perpendicular to lines (3) and (4)). My classroom is focused on the "EFFL" style of teaching: Experience First, Formalize Later as popularized by Luke Wilcox and Lindsay Gallas of Stats Medic, Calc Medic and Math Medic.
