Let's Get Cooking with Ratios!
This 3-day mini-unit will provide some real-world context to proportion and unit rate, using rate tables, writing basic equations, and making predictions using equations. Students use functional recipes to scale ingredients up and down. A web quest and suggested homework/extensions are also included. This unit will help supplement core curriculum and deepen understanding of the foundational concept of proportion.
