One step equations – Find the shape (square)
This worksheet contains 26 one – step equation questions, labelled A – Z. The students must solve each question and then connect each answer to the corresponding question letter. When all answers have been connected to their correct letter, a square will be revealed. This can be given to students as part of classwork that must be finished at home, or students can work together in pairs of 2 or 3. My students really get a kick out of finding the shape in these exercises. Answers are included. P

Word meaning in Math - Cut and stick review game
This worksheet contains 45 mathematical words or phrases in boxes. These words must be cut out and stuck to a sheet with different mathematical symbols on it. If they cut out a box with “less than” on it, they stick this statement in the “minus” column. There are two versions of the worksheet: An A4 version, that kids can do alone. Teaching style
I like to challenge the students and create activities that make them scratch their heads and have to think about a topic or situation. I try to make each topic as applicable to everyday examples as I can. Being able to regurgitate information is one thing, but I like to see students thinking outside the box.
My own education history
Bachelor or science Education (Honours), Taught masters in Software localisation.
Additional biographical information
I come from Ireland, but have lived and worked in an environment that is mostly concerned with American curriculum or British curriculum, in that time teaching mainly Math and the three Sciences (chemistry, physics and biology, as well as ecology and environmental science etc) and English as a language.
