One set of cards has verbal expressions. The other set has algebraic expressions. Students take turns trying to find matches. They can also read the verbal cards aloud to each other and see if they can write the expression algebraically.
This activity consists of 6 half sheets of paper. each student is given a sheet with a table with 3 columns: algebraic expressions, verbal expressions, and names. For each algebraic expression on their table, they have to find another student with a matching verbal expression and vice versa. When they find a match, they complete that section of the table, including writing the name of the student who they matched with. It is set up so that each student will have one and only one match will a tab
A 5 slide PowerPoint Presentation focusing on writing equations in slope-intercept form using Point-slope form. Two examples given a point on the slope and three examples given two points. Made with PPT 2007, but converted to be compatible with PPT '97-'03.
A PowerPoint Presentation that goes along with my FREE product "Commutative, Associative, and Distributive Property Table". Includes examples of how to use the properties to change problems for mental math. (I prefer to use my other product "Simplifying Expressions" for teaching the distributive property.)
-Basic Intro to Congruency
-Lesson on HSG-CO.A.1 (Know the precise definitions of angle, circle, perpendicular line, parallel line, and line segment, based on the undefined notions of point, line, distance along a line, and distance around a circular arc.)
-instructions on making foldables and guided notes
Guided Foldable and Notes available to purchase ($0.50 each)

A PowerPoint presentation focusing on combining like terms and using the distributive property. Includes examples of how to use the distributive property to help with mental calculations. 10 step by step examples for simplifying. This lecture takes about 15 minutes. Made with PPT 2007 but converted to be compatible with ppt '97-'03.
This lab is a series of questions that will reinforce the students' understanding of graphing linear equations as well as guide the students to an understanding of horizontal and vertical lines. Prerequisites: graphing by intercepts, graphing by slope-intercept form
I use this activity to introduce horizontal and vertical lines, but it can also be used to reinforce the concept.
A good follow-up lesson is to have the students recreate a Mondrian painting, which uses only vertical and horizontal
A PowerPoint presentation focusing on solving very simple, one-variable equation. Six examples. Good for use with my Balancing Equations Scale Free Presentation. Made with PPT 2007, but converted to be compatible with PPT '97-'03.
A PowerPoint Presentation focusing on analyzing conditional statements. Includes 10 examples of writing the statements in if-then form, drawing conclusions from the statements, and providing counterexamples. Made in PPT 2007 but converted to be compatible with PPT '97-'03.
Students will identify which operation given math terms associate with. (goes along with my product MATH TERMS TABLE) 7 Examples of translating verbal expressions to algebraic expressions.
Students will be given data that represents information that a professional actuary might use. The students will have to translate each set of data into a two-variable equation. The next step will be for the students to set two of the equations equal to each other, in order to answer a question regarding when two particular variables will be equal. The students will be asked to analyze the results to determine its validity and its usefulness to the company that hired them. The rubric and instruc

As I am working more and more with lower grades in my current position as a technology integration coach, I am trying my hand at creating instructional units for all grades. Constructive feedback is highly appreciated.
